LIGHT & SHADE

MARKS & TOOLS EXHIBITION LCW | 2016

H500mm x W380mm

The original inspiration for these artworks came from studying the geometric angles of Helen Lundeberg's abstract paintings from the 1950's & 70's. Having largely trained in mixed media at art school, I decided to re-visit this limitless process to create 3-dimensional wall pieces developed from drawings.

The acute and obtuse angles give striking precise compositions, whilst also creating negative spaces and niches for glass inclusions. The precious and reflective quality of rich metallic glass and mirror against larger areas of matt painted acrylic and gesso, creates interesting contrast.

Currently exhibiting with Todd Merrill Studio, NYC and available for purchase.
