Commission by the Art for Teaching and Healing committee at St Georges Hospital London, this fixed panel composition floats within a recessed niche providing focus in a waiting room. The artwork can also be viewed by passers by along the busy corridor through a glass wall.

 

The artwork design was based upon a revolutionary dispensary robot installed to provide a more efficient prescriptions service at the hospital’s pharmacy. It operates using barcode technology so this was emulated in the glass repetition, placement and varied dimensions.
